FIX UP OR TEAR DOWN
Nestled in trees and surrounding hill
and hay meadows, Wood Lake at one time was a village of about
400 residence, business, and retired families. Homes were maintained with
fresh paint, mowed lawns, and
residence carried about how the property looked when visitors came to town.
Today, the homes below are no
long utilized and in most cases should be torn down and it becomes a "sore" site
to many that visit now. Hopefully,
one day, certain residence that control the village will come to the realization
that something should and
could be done to rid the village of the blighted building that take up the
landscape throughout the village. Some
of the allies are full of trash and debris and many old trees that are several
feet in diameter needs to be
removed for safety purposes. Hopefully, no one will get killed or a home
damaged from these large trees. Around
some blighted homes you will still find an old "outhouse" that should be removed
and filled in for sanitation
reasons.
